What happens when?

Your Book Marketing Journey

Promoting your book is an ongoing process. This timeline below breaks it down into three key stages to help you understand what happens and when for book marketing.

When your book goes into production

Author questionnaire is completed. Activity focuses on making sure your book is discoverable through all our distribution partners, sales agents and trade customers. Advanced information is shared in data feeds, catalogues and optimised web content. The website listing goes live, six months prior to publication. Marketing planning and content creation will begin.

Two months-to publication

Your book will be announced via listserv, social media and email channels. We’ll publish a blog post, share author interviews or video clips you’ve created. Outreach to reviewers and other organisations will take place.

Post-publication

We will continue to share any testimonials or reviews as well as include your title in seasonal, series or subject promotions and share information at relevant conferences.

The author questionnaire is vital to help with this work. Find out how to complete yours.
