Market your monograph

Your monograph or edited collection is in production and due to publish in a few months. 🙌

Now it’s time to start thinking about the best way to market and promote to academics, librarians and the wider interested public. The marketing team will start gathering information to prepare the marketing campaign.

The three most critical things you can do to help spread the word are below.

1. Write a blog post

Tell everyone why you wrote, edited or contributed to the book and how it can help develop your field of study. Describe the ideas or research behind it, the writing process or collaborations behind the scenes. Not sure where to start? This marketing questionnaire can help prompt you if you’d prefer.

2. Talk about the book – in your own words

There’s nothing quite like hearing directly from the expert. Record a short video clip explaining why you wrote or edited the book and how it is relevant to researchers and academics. If you’re unsure where to start, these handy guides will explain how.

3. Share via your networks

If you’re a member of a listserv, society or association – spread the word when your book is published. You can also ask the team for an email signature banner or social media graphics that you can share on LinkedIn, Bluesky, Threads or other networks.

4. Download the flyer

You can download the flyer and take copies with you to events and conferences. Your book has a flyer download button on its webpage. Simply click the button, download the PDF and take some copies with you as and when you need them at meetings, events or conferences.

The marketing department is available to advise and support on opportunities for your monograph or edited collection. Everything you do above will help us reach a wider audience. Thank you.
