Textbooks

UCL Press has launched new programme of open access textbooks, for undergraduate and postgraduate courses and modules, across a variety of disciplines. This landmark programme will mark out UCL Press as the first UK-based academic publisher to produce and distribute a dedicated programme of high-quality, open access textbooks, free to download digitally, anywhere in the world.

Each new textbook is developed with the student in mind and include pedagogical features to support navigation through a key topic or theme. Open textbooks offer instructors and readers lifelong access to teaching materials and learning content for hybrid modes of course delivery. What do our authors have to say about the programme?

Publishing an open access textbook with UCL Press has greatly benefited our students, as they join the Scandinavian Studies cohort and has enabled us to enter conversation about the Nordic culture with a vast range of readers across the globe. It is it's quite extraordinary to think that students have read our book in places where they may not have access to Scandinavian Studies Programmes at Universities but will get an introduction to the topic through our textbook. It’s been a great experience to work with the UCL Press team to develop this textbook. They provide a dedicated and supportive service to their authors and the quality of the published books is excellent.
